London Calling

We went on a rock n roll tour while we were in London.  http://www.beatles-beatles-beatles.com/ The tour took us to where Keith Moon, Mama Cass, Brian Epstein (manager of the Beatles), Jimi Hendrix, Steve Clark from Def Leppard, Marc Bolan, Freddy Mercury lived and died.  We also saw the current homes of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Jimi Page, and Eric Clapton.  We saw Hyde Park where so many open air shows have been held; it is right by the Hard Rock Café at 150 Old Park Lane.  We went to Vivienne Westwoods shop where Chrissie Hynde worked; Billy Idol, The Clash and the Sex Pistols used to hang out there in Chelsea area.

We stopped for some wine at Bill Wymans Sticky Fingers restaurant, the tour guide said when it first opened they used to have to pull the fire alarm to get people out way past last call.  A lot of the artwork in the restaurant is created by Bill Wyman.  We stopped by the Rolling Stones old flat that still had the red door that they wanted ‘Painted Black’.  We drove by Rough Trade which was the indie label that signed the Smiths and the Strokes.  We also drove by Apple Records on 3 Savile Row which is where the Beatles had their last concert on the roof.  The final stop on the tour was the opportunity to see Abbey Road Studios and to be able to walk on Abbey Road.
